DAY 17 - THE MEDIATOR

  1. THE MEDIATOR

He makes everything much BETTER!

Luke 23:42 And he (the criminal crucified with Jesus) was saying, "Jesus, remember me when You come in Your kingdom!" 43 And He said to him, "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise."

DEVOTE:

Christ’s arbitration is between God and man, just as He is seen here interceding for this criminal on the cross. So,  1 Timothy tells us that, “There is one God, and one MEDIATOR between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all.” (2:5-6) Just ONE mediator between you and God – just ONE, not a whole bunch! Not a church, not a pastor or priest, not a saint. Why is that? The answer is simple, and clear: Jesus was the only One willing to lay down His life, and pay the ransom price for your soul thru His own precious blood. No one else has done that, therefore no one else has the right to mediate between you and God, Christ has secured total and direct access for you to the Father!

As Mediator, because Jesus is both truly human and fully God, He is able to represent both sides in God’s dispute with sinful man, and by His blood He has fully satisfied divine Justice, guaranteed a new and better covenant, and has restored the relationship between God and man: Hebrews 8:6 says,He is the MEDIATOR of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises”, and Hebrews 12:24 says, “Jesus, (is) the MEDIATOR of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.”

The New Covenant is not a letter written in ink, like the Law, but rather it is the better blood of Christ that speaks MERCY, as Jesus ever lives as our Advocate (1 John 2:1), to intercede for you and I! (Heb 7:25). Jesus doesn’t have to turn to a page in a book to get a justice clause, in order to put you in right standing before God. His blood speaks volumes! His blood is His bond - it's like the glue that keeps you and God together in an unbreakable union! “For this reason He is the MEDIATOR of a new covenant, so that, ... those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.” (Hebrews 9:15)

PRAY:

Jesus, thank You for your intense mediation on my behalf before the Father. Thank You that your blood forever speaks better things, and secures the promise of eternal inheritance for me. Amen.
